Once again earning our reputation as "The Problem Solvers", we advised the Civil Engineer that if Katchall was to manufacture and install our antimicrobial downspout filtration devices for this project , it was going to become extremely cost prohibitive, (Appx 25 downspouts per building x 7).

We designed and submitted all relevant drawings and specifications for the KLEENSPOUT devices within less than 24-hours and obtained approvals from the Engineer of Record, the University of California--San Diego, the City of San Diego , and the San Diego Regional Water Quality Control Board within less than 1-week!

UCSD North Student Housing Complex--2009

Three (3) units were cast-in-place ranging from the smallest (2' X 3' x 26") to the largest (3' x 3' x 48").

Pipes connect all the downspouts around a building and discharge via a 6-inch drain line.

Vertical weir walls (of varying heights) were placed inside the structures; 1 Trash Net, 1 Mixed Media & 1 Antimicrobial.

The KLEENSPOUT units intercept and filter all discharging waters emanating from the downspouts prior to their entry into the storm drainage conveyance system.

Discharges enter directly into the Pacific Ocean near the Torrey Pines State Park

Photos were taken prior to & during construction.

Reinforced aluminum top covers were placed on all units to meet public safety criteria (ADA) and to provide easy access points for cleaning.
